Downieville Mountain Epic – August 5-7, 2022

Join SBTS on Friday, August 05 – Sunday, August 07, 2022, for our fun-filled Epic Weekend in Downieville, where the food and beer are covered for our beloved SBTS volunteers. RSVP sooner than later as these “sell-out”!

The weekend festivities include: sleeping under the stars, riding the fine trails of Downieville, hiking, and a lot of digging in the dirt! You do not have to be a member to participate. Where to meet

We will be meeting at the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship building (formerly Yuba Expeditions) at 208 Main st, in the back. Google Map.

Weekend Schedule:

The event officially kicks off Saturday, but many will arrive Friday to set up camp. The group campsite will be set up by Friday night. On Saturday, plan on arriving between 7:00 and 8:30 am.

Friday:

  • 1pm – Campsite Open
  • Get your own dinner on the way in, or in town.

Saturday:

  • 7:30 am – Hot water available and coffee bar
  • 9:00 am – Safety talk and grab your sack lunch and drink compliments of SBTS
  • 9:15 am – Depart for project site
  • 2:00 pm – Tools down and return to the meeting location
  • 4:30 pm – BBQ & Cold Beverages
  • 5:30pm – Epic Games

Sunday

  • 7:30 am – Hot water available and coffee bar
  • 10 am- Adventures Depart ( we will have multiple options, loosely organized with those who know the area)

Project Description

  • TBD. First, Second and Third Divide and North Yuba trails are possibilities.

What is provided

  • Breakfast Saturday and Sunday: Hot water (so you can make your own coffee and breakfast)
  • Sack lunch Saturday
  • Dinner Saturday night
  • Trail bars Sunday afternoon
  • Drinks (beer and non-alcoholic)

What to bring

  • Your camping gear
  • Stuff for biking, hiking or swimming & trail work
  • Water (there will be water there, but feel free to bring extra if you like)
  • Sun protection
  • Gloves, long pants, hiking shoes, and a day pack for trail work
