Partnering with local businesses to support the trails and you!

To continually maintain existing trails, build new trails and improve our economy through recreation, we partner with local Lost Sierra community businesses through our $1 for Sierra Trails program. Businesses ask their customers for a small donation of $1 to our non-profit, which is added to their lodging or food bill. Some businesses also use our SBTS donation boxes at their checkout counters.

Of course, many customers donate more than $1 once they’ve experienced our trails and the work SBTS does. It all adds up in helping increase recreational tourism for our community that comes right back to supporting your business!

“Today the trails are maintained by Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship and are enjoyed by dirt bikers, hikers and mountain bikers alike.”
– Pinkbike, August 2015

Become a business partner

Starting out as a pilot program at the Gray Eagle Lodge, this program is now being expanded to businesses throughout Plumas and Sierra Counties that benefit from recreational tourism and active residents. Businesses promote SBTS to their customers and add $1 or more to their bill for local trails.

People can also donate to the $1 for Sierra Trails program anytime they see our donation boxes at other local area businesses. Currently, these can be found at the Brewing Lair, The Graeagle Store and other fine retailers. We encourage you to contact us for a donation box for your business and show you care!

If you have a business and are interested in participating in the $1 for Sierra Trails program, please contact us.
