Downieville Volunteer Epic – July 11-13, 2025

Join SBTS on Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13, 2025, for our fun-filled Epic Weekend at Packer Saddle in the mountains above Downieville, where the food and beer are covered for our beloved SBTS volunteers. RSVP sooner than later as these “sell-out”!

The weekend festivities include: sleeping under the stars, riding the fine trails of Downieville, hiking, and a lot of digging in the dirt! You do not have to be a member to participate. Where to meet

We will be meeting at the Packsaddle Campground, on the Sierra Crest. Google Map.

Weekend Schedule:

The event officially kicks off Saturday, but many will arrive Friday to set up camp. On Saturday, plan on arriving between 7:00 and 8:30 am to get signed in for trailwork. You do not need to camp to come work, feel free to come just for the day! Organized group adventures will be offered.

Friday:

  • 2pm – Camping Opens.
  • Get your own dinner on the way in, or in town.

Saturday:

  • 7:00 am Hot water (so you can make your own coffee and breakfast)
  • 8:30 am Volunteer Sign In
  • 9:00 am Safety Talk
  • 9:15 pm Depart for Project Site (we provide a sandwich and drink for lunch)
  • 10:00 am Group Adventures (if not doing trailwork)
  • 2:00 pm Tools Down, Return to the meeting location
  • 5:00 – Dinner
  • 6:00 pm – Epic Games

Sunday

  • 10am- Adventures Depart (we will have multiple options, loosely organized with those who know the area)

What is Provided

  • Hot water (so you can make your own coffee and breakfast)
  • Sack lunch on the day you do trailwork
  • Dinner Friday & Saturday night
  • Drinks (beer and non-alcoholic)

What to Bring

  • Your camping gear
  • Stuff for biking, hiking or swimming & trail work
  • Water (there will be water there, but feel free to bring extra if you like)
  • Sun protection
  • Gloves, long pants, hiking shoes, and a day pack for trail work
