Between Tuesday, October 11 and Tuesday, November 22, you will have the chance to win this one-of-a-kind moto thanks to our partners at KTM, Motorcycle Performance Center in Roseville, CA and with some help from the Nevada County Woods Riders (NCWR).

This moto features customized Connected Communities graphics and outfitted with an aftermarket skid plate, handguards, front and rear brake rotor guards, heat shield,  and grab handle from KTM PowerParts, Dunlop tires, bike stand, NoToil air filters and a filter kit, and a $500 credit from Motion Pro for tools. It will also include soft luggage bags from Giant Loop, which will come in handy when the winner picks up their new bike in Quincy, California, receiving a 3-day, 2-night tour of the Lost Sierra courtesy of our super volunteer heroes at NCWR. And to make the winner look as sharp as the new bike they’ll be on, Fasthouse is styling out the winner with a full apparel kit!

The Original.

We created the successful “$5 a Foot” fundraiser over ten years ago inspired by a need to raise much-needed funds to build the Sunrise Trail and we desired a mechanism to bring everyone together and get involved, contribute and, if one’s lucky,  maybe even end up being new-bike richer.

Thousands of people have donated to this grassroots campaign, and thousands of people have benefited from the many miles of trails it’s created.

Over the years, $5 a Foot has become an incredible success, it helped build the Sunrise Trail, North Yuba Trail, Mills Peak Trail, Mt. Hough Trail, Indian Falls 2 Trail, and more. This success has not gone unnoticed, as now, almost every trail advocacy organization uses this idea as a fundraising tool. We are proud to have created $5 a Foot, and humbled that it has spawned many fundraising campaigns nationally that support building more trail.

We run this campaign once a year, join our newsletter, or follow our Facebook and Instagram so you’ll know when it’s running. We partner with Santa Cruz Bicycles  to craft the most blinged-out Downieville Tough dream bike, ready to tackle the biggest climbs and gnarliest descents in the Lost Sierra, and love to give it away to a supporter of the trails, helping to keep shovels in the dirt. Get involved!
