Right Rider Access Fund Awards SBTS Grant for Moto Purchase
QUINCY, CA—The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship Pro Trail Crew is covering more ground this season, thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Right Rider Access Fund (RRAF) that allowed the organization to purchase three new Yamaha TTR 230 trail bikes to help maintain more than 300 miles of trail on the Plumas and Tahoe National Forests.
RRAF directs industry-supported funding to organizations like SBTS working on the ground to maintain trails, improve safety and promote responsible riding. It is backed by the Motorcycle Industry Council, the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association and Specialty Vehicle Institute of America.
“MIC, ROHVA, and SVIA are delighted that our member companies continue to support end users through RRAF,” says Duane Taylor, director of safe and responsible use programs for the Associations. “The industry's investment will help the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship provide increased, better, safer, and more sustainable opportunities for OHV enthusiasts. We are excited to follow their great work and to continue working in partnership with them and other organizations, clubs, associations, and agencies that work to improve safe and responsible access for OHV recreation."
The Downieville Trail Crew is already using the motos in the field!
