For 2026, Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship has revamped our entire race registration process, to include a new cancellation policy and discounts to those who sign-up early or commit to the entire year of races.
We’re kicking things off with the introduction of the new SBTS VIP Race Bundle! If you’re planning to race all three SBTS events next year, this pass is for you. When you sign up through the bundle, you’ll get 15 percent off your entries for Lost and Found Gravel Festival, featuring all-new courses for 2026 including singletrack in all distances, the Downieville Classic and Mountains to Meadows Endurofest. This is the ONLY discount that will be available for the Downieville Classic All Mountain race. The bundle also has the most generous cancellation policy we’ve ever offered with entries fully refundable until April 1, 2026. These passes will be available until Dec. 31, but there are only 30 available, so you’ll want to act fast. More information and a link to registration is available on each race website. Get your SBTS VIP Race Bundle here and use code: SBTS_VIP2026
Here are some other important dates to note:
- Previous Racer Loyalty: October 27 to November 2. If you want to register for a single race, this will be your chance to do so with a 15% discount as a thank you for returning, with a full refund if cancelled by March 1, 2026. If cancelled between March 2 and April 1, racers will get a full BikeReg credit to use toward another 2026 SBTS event. Note: The 15% discount excludes the Downieville Classic All-Mountain category.
- Public Early Bird: November 3 to November 16, 2025. Registration opens to the general public, with a 10% discount for those who sign-up within this window (again, excluding the Downieville Classic All-Mountain category). The same cancellation policy applies as the Previous Racer Loyalty. Use code SBTSADVENTURE_2026 at checkout to get your discount
- General Registration: November 17 or Later. Racers will pay full price for registration for any race after November 17, and no cancellations or deferrals will be available.
Registration fees are not going up in 2026, except for a slight increase in the Downieville Classic to include a wildfire insurance policy that protects your entry in the case we have to cancel the event for various qualified reasons, including wildfire. You can find more details on that policy on the Downieville Classic registration page. Also this year, for the first time, we are adding a Sport Class to the Downieville All-Mountain, in addition to Expert and Pro to accommodate newer racers.
Proceeds from all of our races benefit Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, and our work to strengthen rural communities where these races are held, through trail development and building. Since forming as a nonprofit in 2003, SBTS has built 231 miles of new trails throughout the Lost Sierra region, and maintained more than 2,900 miles, including all the trails featured in the Downieville Classic, Grinduro and the Mt. Hough Enduro. Your commitment to racing one of SBTS’ events directly contributes to the trails in the Lost Sierra!
Please email info@sierratrails.org with any questions, and we’ll see you out on the course in the Lost Sierra in 2026!
