Mills Peak Singletrack Extension Grand Opening Trail Daze – May 19

We are beyond excited to announce that after the March Miracle winter, the new Mills Peak Singletrack Extension is ready to roll! So, we thought we’d throw a big party to celebrate – shocker, right?

This will be a celebration of EPIC proportions and a weekend-long event as we thank our partners, the USFS Beckwourth District, Sierra County, Plumas County, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, State Proposition 40, Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, Eastern Plumas Parks and Recreation, TRAC, Graeagle Land & Water, Graeagle Market, Brewing Lair, Ibis, Ron and Melinda Heard and you – our hardworking volunteers and members who helped make this day possible. There will be digging. There will be delicious food and icy cold beverages. There will be camping and luxurious lodging. There will be speeches. There will be fun and laughs for the whole family. And there will be legit Yuba Expeditions shuttles to the top of Mills Peak for the first time ever after six years of pursuing a permit!

Here’s what’s on tap for the weekend:

Overnight camping is available for volunteers both Friday and Saturday nights in Graeagle. Or step-up your game and stay at the Nakoma Resort – they’re offering a special room rate of $125 double occupancy/1 night or $240 double occupancy/2 nights just for this event. Kurt Gensheimer (aka The Angry Singlespeeder) and James Adamson will recount how they completed these two epic mountain bike adventures through video and photography, inspiring us to get outside, seek new adventures and explore.

Bring the family, the kiddos get to play and so do you.

9:00am to 2pm – Yuba Expeditions shuttles to the top of Mills Peak. Volunteers who work on Saturday will receive FREE shuttles! We will have the sign-up list onsite on Saturday during trail work so you can secure your spot. Others who choose not to do trail work can shuttle for $20/person.
