SBTS’s Earn a Bike Program, Sponsored by WOOM, gets local youth rolling on two wheels and invested in trail stewardship. Kids ages 7-9 participate in educational sessions covering: trail work, nature education, bike maintenance and building riding skills. Upon completing the activities, the program participants are given a new mountain bike to enjoy on the trails SBTS builds and maintains.

Program participants will receive a brand new WOOM OFF AIR 4 (20 inch) or OFF AIR 5 (24 inch) ultralight and durable mountain bike with front suspension, 9 gears and disc brakes

2026 Program Details
Info & Requirements:
- Open to Ages 7-9
- 4-5 participants to be selected
- Participate in all activities (see list below!) and earn a woom mountain bike
- Ability to listen & follow directions
- A parent/guardian MUST accompany their participant to
- ALL activities Parent transportation required

- Friday, April 24th, 4:30 PM
Hike & Trail Dynamics Education
Wilderness Scavenger Hunt - Saturday, April 25th, 1 PM
Simple Trail Work Saturday - May 2nd, 2 PM
Bike Maintenance Clinic
Group Skill-Building Ride
Alternate dates may be designated based on weather

To Apply:
Wishful participants should submit a written, video or audio recording of themselves explaining what they want to learn by doing the program and why they want a new mountain bike. Due by March 21st.
Applicants will be notified of decisions by March 27th. All submissions should be emailed to Program Manager, Kyle Stone: stone@sierratrails.org
SBTS will not use any video/audio submissions for promotion or publication. Submissions are strictly for evaluating and selecting applicants. Should a parent/guardian not feel comfortable with a video/audio format, a written application may be requested.
