SBTS Trail Map Program

Map Project Description:
SBTS is in the process of producing a TOPO map highlighting recreational trails located in the Downieville and Lakes Basin areas. Proceeds from map sales are stored in a separate bank account and used to support the long-term maintenance of Downieville and Lakes Basin trails, by hiring a local trail crew and subsidizing volunteer work programs. This is an important step towards keeping our trails healthy and we need your help to get the map printed. Initial funding has been provided by Todd Hesse of TNT Plumbing and the Passafiume family. You can help by making a donation and in the "Notes" section, write SBTS Trail Map. This guarantees your donation will go to this specific program.

Trail Map Features:

  • Downieville Trail System and Lakes Basin Trail System
  • Printed on waterproof/tearproof paper and folded to approximately 4” x 9”
  • Use designations for hiking, biking, equestrian and motorized
  • Difficulty/ability level of featured trails

Role Map Will Serve:

  • Educate and inform trail users
  • Attract recreational tourism
  • Provide information regarding trail designations (motorized and multi-use)
  • Promote healthy and active lifestyles amongst residents by providing an accurate guide

Funding from Map Sales:
All funds generated from sales are stored in a separate bank account and are used to:

  • Support long-term trail maintenance of featured trails by funding a locally hired trail crew
  • Subsidize volunteer work programs
  • Leverage State and Federal grant funds for trail maintenance
  • Provide funding for reprints and updates as needed
